Ticket to Heaven

There are many wonderful experiences to be enjoyed when you stay at the Green Hotel. The ´Himlaspelet´ in Leksand is a classic as well as ´Vasaloppet´. Musical performances by Lake Siljan and concerts and shows at Dalhalla open-air theatre are world class. We arrange tickets and transport and even wax the skis if necessary. If you play golf there are several courses to choose from. The closest one, and our favourite, is Tällberg's course with nine holes and fantastic views over the lake. The course opened in 2005 and no one has scored a hole-in-one... yet. If you are the first then we will give you your lodging for free, even if you stay for several days - and of course a bottle of Champagne! If you would like to go to Rättviks Golf Club the green fee is free when you stay with us.

The Vasalopp package

Many choose to begin and end their challenge in the tracks of our ancestors here, at the Green Hotel. While you get ready for the race we prepare the right food, service and extras. The day before race-day we serve a pasta buffet in the dining room with three kinds of pasta sauce, freshly baked bread, salad, coffee and biscuits. Skis are allowed indoors and can be waxed. We begin race day with a hearty porridge breakfast and end it with a three-course dinner. On departure day you will get a nice lie-in before the breakfast buffet. Simply let us know beforehand and we will arrange it for you. If you are taking the shorter Vasaloppet route or the women's Vasalopp we will pick up your number ticket and arrange transport to the starting line in Oxberg and from the finishing line in Mora. Notify us when you book the Vasalopp package.

The Dalhalla package

There are simply not enough words to describe how wonderful the Dalhalla experience is. Here are just a fraction of the comments our guests have made after an evening at this unique theatre: 'staggering, unique, magical, unforgettable and indescribably beautiful'. World-class musical performances set amidst the mountains, water and forest. Dalhalla is an absolute must-see. It is just 21 km from the Green Hotel to Dalhalla and naturally we arrange tickets, transport and dinner before or an evening meal after the show.

Experiences in Dalarna

The villages around Lake Siljan are in the heart of Dalarna and offer unique and wonderful experiences.

The area is renowned for it's folk art and handicrafts, but there is much more on offer for all ages and interests:

• The Siljan ring is a gigantic prehistoric crater that was formed after a meteorite struck... heaven for geologists and biologists!
• All kinds of winter sports are on offer nearby.
• Beach life and swimming at Lake Siljan during summer.
• Dalarna's traditional folk music contributes to the warm atmosphere. Music lovers will meet active composers and musicians who have influenced our country's musical culture.
• Some of Sweden's most popular works of art are displayed in local museums and beautifully preserved artists' studios.
• There are many colourful and vibrant traditions that are celebrated throughout the year in Dalarna - and you are welcome to enjoy them with us!
